So for the past few days I have not been able to work. In all honesty I am not longing to go back to school/work. I love being a teacher, but this particular position I have now is not my cup of tea if you know what I mean. Most people would say that being with high school students all day would never be their cup of tea and that I am crazy for choosing to be there. I really enjoy high school students. They are not in middle school... middle school students are the WORST! High school students enjoy a good joke maybe even a little sarcasm ;) If I am sarcastic with a middle school student they either stand there confused, or start crying.
Snow days are always a welcome and unexpected break (my favorite!) here are some pictures of the snow!

Cleaning
I love to buy cleaning supplies :). Yeah, I am kinda weird about things like that. The funny thing is that I hate cleaning... well, I have to be in the right mood to clean. And that mood strikes me about once a year. Honestly that is a lot like Christianity for many people. They love to buy the cool looking Bible, and all the right Christian books. They have all of the Chris Tomlin CD's on their iPod, and they go to the Christian concerts. But they don't like to clean. They don't use the things they have to apply it to their life. I only say this because I see it in myself.
I am a Bible junkie. I have at least 10 in my room right now. Do I need 10 Bibles? No. Is there any logical reason for me to have 10 Bibles? No. Especially not when I know that there are some people who do not have even one. I heard that the average American household has 4 Bibles. What would America look like if every one of those Bibles was being read daily and followed? It kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it?
On a different note... I have decided to run the mini marathon in Louisville in April. Going from couch to mini is not going to be easy, but hey, I'm young... I can do this... right?

Boiling water
So i just put a big pot of boiling water onto the stove to cook some mac and cheese for dinner (yumm:). Today at school one of my freshmen asked me out on a date. I am seriously considering writing him up for said offense. a) I am 11 years older than he is. b) I am his teacher... there are laws against this. c) not only was he short, but ugly, and had not yet learned to properly apply deodorant (this is a common problem among freshmen). All of these thoughts promptly ran through my head in said order in a matter of seconds before I refused his offer. ha! But this makes me think... why would a teacher EVER have a relationship with one of her students.
There was an article that I read once about an 8th grade boy that was having relationships with two teachers... at the same time! One of the teachers felt guilty about the situation and came forward. After she did the other teacher said that she was also having a relationship with that student. I mean... for real?! That must have been one good looking 8th grader! I look at 8th graders now and they are struggling through puberty... much less knowing how to deal with the opposite sex of their own age. Wow.
Seniors. I probably have the most difficulty with them. And like one of them told me last year, "You are only 4 years older than me Ms. X, can I have your number?" It is true that I am only 4 or 5 years older than they are, but that will change. I will get older, and Seniors will always be 17-18, or 19 maybe even 20 or 21. Oh well... my mac and cheese is done :)

From a Ragamuffin
So currently I am reading the Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning. It really is an awesome book that is really reminding me about the amazing grace of God. I think that ever since the song came out we have kind of lost the real meaning of those words... Amazing Grace. Earlier today (which was a snow day!) I was watching this movie called Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed that had Richard Dawkins on it (who slightly reminds me of a snake). He was talking about how the God of the Old Testament was a closed minded, egotistical, etc. homophobe etc. and, you know what, if you just look at certain parts you could get that, but it is kinda like missing the forest for the trees. You are missing God for the just acts that had to happen in order for his ultimate will to be done. And there are times that God's grace is shown in the Old Testament, I mean look at Jonah God forgave the people of Nineveh after they changed their ways... not to mention the countless times God forgave the Israelite for messing things up! I did not make this blog to preach... the Lord knows I could not be a preacher, but the amazing grace of God is just that... amazing. Who are we to determine who receives this grace or not? "The world needs Christians who don't tolerate the complacency of their own lives!"
Zoey says "Woof!" which if you are fluent in BC you know means "Amen!"

Bloggin'
So like everyone else in the world i have started a blog. I think this is actually my second blog, but considering that I have forgotten the former's URL it has become another piece of clutter on the internet like so many others. Hopefully I do not forget about this one ;) Zoey is my Border Collie, and having a BC in an of itself makes my life interesting (ha!) They are known as one of the smartest breeds of dog, if not THE smartest breed ever... to say the least I am proud of her even though she does no more than comfort me when I need it, laugh at me in her own way, and protect me from men (ha again!) I am currently also a high school biology teacher/ converted to a math teacher. I hate math. But for some reason God decided to make me teach it to some very interesting teenagers. God has a tendency to do that to me, make me do something I say I will never do, I need to keep that in mind. God... I never want to go to Hawaii!
